Flunk // Blue Monday
I first heard this song on the Nancy Drew soundtrack ages ago, mostly drawn to it for its beautiful dreamy acoustic intro and reverb-filled vocals that seem to float into the distance. To be honest, I didn’t pick up the electronic edits from the second verse onwards until I listened to this track in my bedroom, a book on my lap.
The lyrics are nothing special, until you realise that there is a constant echo of every other word in the monotonous chaos that seems to fall perfectly into place.
